Benevolent Fund: This Advent for our Christmas Gift Project, we are encouraging folks to give to our Benevolent Fund. In the last year, our Benevolent Fund has been used in many ways to support people who are unhoused, in crisis, or are otherwise vulnerable. We've paid for a newcomer to Canada to spend a few nights in an inexpensive B&B while getting established as a student. The fund provided for a stone marker for the grave of an unhoused person. We've paid for a few food hampers and travel for someone to return home for a family member's funeral. Through the Benevolent Fund, we touch many lives providing people hope, joy and connection.
UCC Church Calendars: Bring your $10 with you on Sunday and pick up one of the very special 100th Anniversary of the United Church of Canada calendars. Joan L. will be selling them after worship during coffee time. Limited supplies!
Celebration of Life: for Gloria Nystrom. Saturday, January 11th, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Services, Burkeview Chapel, 1340 Dominion Ave, Port Coquitlam. We hope folks will be able to join in this gathering for a beloved congregation member.
Rev David News: Rev David will be on leave from Jan 6 to Jan 19 in the new year.
Welcome donations: Here is a list of items Progressive Housing (and the Winter Shelter) is looking for, to distribute to the unhoused community this winter. There is a drop off location inside the church, just in front of the office. Feel free to bring them in on Sundays.
