Worship on Sunday, Jan 12, 2024 at 10:30 am: Sunday's service will be led by Lynda Dickson. This is Lynda's first time preaching with us! She is a student at the Centre for Christian Studies (CCS) which is where our own Letitia Berger studied! She also served a term with Eagle Ridge United as their Children and Youth Minister. We will also have our YouTube livestream available to those at home. CLICK HERE to access it. Once you are on the page, at the time of worship, click on the video that says "live now" and you will start watching the service.
 
UCC Church Calendars: Bring your $10 with you on Sunday and pick up one of the very special 100th Anniversary of the United Church of Canada calendars. Joan L. will be selling them after worship during coffee time. Only 5 left!
 
Celebration of Life: for Gloria Nystrom. Saturday, January 11th, 2025 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Services, Burkeview Chapel, 1340 Dominion Ave, Port Coquitlam. We hope folks will be able to join in this gathering for a beloved congregation member. The service will be livestreamed if you would like to view from home, just CLICK HERE on the day of the service to be connected.
 
UCW Meeting: Don't forget! This Tuesday is the UCW's (United Church Women's) monthly gathering - all women of the Church are invited to join: for fellowship, learning, and coffee and snacks. This Tuesday, January 14 at 1:30 pm in the Narthex.
 
Doer's Meeting 2025: The first Doer's meeting of the year will be on Monday, Jan 20 at 6:30 pm at Trinity in the Narthex-Library. All are welcome to come together, talk church, make future plans and be part of what is happening. Everyone is encouraged to show up for each other, our community, and our church. Be a Doer! Rev David News: Rev David will be on leave from Jan 6 to Jan 19. We wish him peaceful restoration and relaxing fun.
 
Christmas Market Swags: We are asking that if you bought a Door Swag at the Christmas Market, please return the plastic base hanger to Trinity. You can just pop it in Choir room and it will be reused next year. Thanks!
 
The Progressive Housing Winter Shelter: continues in the Fellowship Hall every night until the end of the month.
 
Welcome donations: Here is a list of items Progressive Housing (and the Winter Shelter) is looking for, to distribute to the unhoused community this winter. There is a drop off location inside the church, just in front of the office. Feel free to bring them in on Sundays.

Fundraising Concert Upcoming: Choral Connections is pleased to present United in Song 2025, Saturday, January 25 at 2 pm in the Trinity United Church Sanctuary.  This is our 3rd annual fundraiser in the United in Song series of concerts. Enjoy selections from the Choral Connections Choir and special guests at this concert and partake in the goodies offered by the Trinity United Church and Choral Connections members. Adults $20, tickets available at the door, cash or cheque. For advance tickets, email: info@choralconnections.ca. Partial proceeds support Trinity United!

UCC News: It’s 2025, the Centennial year for The United Church of Canada! Kick off a year of hope and looking outward-upward-inward by joining the Moderator, The Right Rev. Dr. Carmen Lansdowne, for a New Year’s address on Jan 13, and a town hall built around the theme of visions and dreams. To access this online event, CLICK HERE.
 
Healing Pathways:  The Tri-Cities Healing Pathway ministry offer in-person healing sessions at Inlet United on Monday afternoons.  Sessions can be booked for 1:15 or 2:00. That time on the 4th Monday of each month, however, is set aside for a gathering of practitioners. To book a session contact 604-939-5513 or email healingpathway@inletunited.ca.

Pacific Mountain updates:

The Pacific Mountain Regional Council is now accepting applications for its Mission Support Grants 2025.

Mission Support Grants are intended for ministries and communities of faith that are living out regional priorities. The named priorities for Pacific Mountain Regional Council are:

  1. Identity: Reconciling, Affirming, Anti-Racist
  2. Healthy Communities of Faith
  3. First Third Ministry

 

Volunteer positions at Pacific Mountain Regional Council

  1. Three Point Housing Community – board positions on society
  2. First United – Nominations for board – do not have to be an attending person.
  3. Finance Advisory – PMRC board positions
  4. Lay Leadership Support Team – PMRC board positions
