The week of Dec 17, 2023Announcements
Hybrid Worship on Sunday, Dec 17, 2023 at 10:30 am: This Sunday we are led in worship by Rev David. We will be celebrating Advent 3: Joy. To join the ZOOM on Sunday, CLICK HERE. To read the order of service for Sunday, CLICK HERE.
Trinity + Worship: Last Sunday's service did not get recorded to YouTube and the Zoom room was also not functioning. We apologise to all who rely on those ways of connecting with our Church Family. We have sorted our problems and have confident hope that this Sunday will be back to normal. Thank you for being kind and patient. For a video of the most recent Sunday service, CLICK HERE. Streamed on our YouTube Channel on Dec 3.
DST News: This week, Rev David was interviewed by 'We've Got Issues,' a non-partisant online forum, to talk about the need for affordable housing and our aspirations to redevelop our property to provide housing and more services to the TriCity area. The interview should be available in a couple weeks.
Christmas Givings: Special Advent Envelopes are available for people to give a financial gift to: Trinity's operating account; Trinity's benevolent fund (to assist a family in need); and a space to write in where you'd like to direct the funds marked "other".
Christmas Around the Piano: This Sunday, our annual Advent Event, Sunday, December 17, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Trinity’s Worship & Music Team is celebrating Advent with an afternoon of music and stories. Please join us in the Sanctuary or via Zoom. CLICK HERE for details! There will be a soup and bun lunch at noon...
Benevolent Fund At Christmas: This year the Doers decided we would take a collection during Advent to support some "local families" who need some extra support during the season. This Sunday, Dec 17th will be the last day that the benevolent funds will be collecting to support local families for Christmas 2023. So if you have been thinking about giving to the fund, please do it by this Sunday. Sunday, after Around the Piano, the money will be divided and delivered to the family units so that it can be used for Christmas.
Santa's Breakfast: The Governance Co-chairs, Jo-Ann Dahms and Betty McLean, are coordinating a Christmas Breakfast for Trinity's Winter Shelter guests and staff early on Saturday morning, Dec 23rd. If you would like to help in any way, please contact Jo-Ann or Betty.
Thrift Sales: A very sparkly, shiny, glitzy total of $1038.00! Let's decorate!
Over Christmas: The Office will be closed from Dec 23 to Jan 8 while our Office Adminstrator takes their Xmas leave. The Thrift Store has finished for the season and will be open next on Jan 10, as will the Food Bank and the Community Kitchens. Rev David will be taking his leave after Dec 24th and will return to the office on Jan 16.
UCC Moderator's Advent Message: The Rt. Rev. Carmen Lansdowne shares her Advent message for 2023. Advent is a time of expectant waiting for the Christmas miracle - a story of hope, bravery, and the willingness to have faith in God. To view her video message, CLICK HERE.
