The peace of Christ be with you all.

We are coming to our third Sunday when we will be gathering at a distance. And it is Palm Sunday. Not what we would have planned. But we will gather in spirit, we will pray together, and we will proclaim the Good News of a New Heaven and a New Earth because we are followers of Christ and we have much for which to be grateful.

Several of your leadership teams have started meeting by Zoom. In the last week, Governance, Worship and Music with Pastoral Care, and Pastoral Care all met by Zoom. We also had a “Zoom Coffee” hour for a number of our leadership. The Zoom Coffee was so successful, we’ve decided to invite you all! Wednesdays at 10:00am, Trinity will host an open Zoom Meeting for anyone who would like to check in on your computer, smartphone or device, follow this link https://us04web.zoom.us/j/3565558629 . If you would like to join us by phone, dial 778-907-2071 and enter the code 356 555 8629 when prompted.

If you would like your small group to have a Zoom Meeting, please email Zoe and she will make it happen.

We are still looking for volunteers to help read the Sunday Gathering Blog to folks who do not have internet. If you would like to be a reader, please contact Jo-Ann Dahms and you will be matched with a Sunday Gathering Buddy. These phone calls are so greatly appreciated by those who receive them.

In the next week, it is our hope to get printed and mailed to you a brand new, current directory. Your Pastoral Care Team has gone through the directory very carefully and created a prayer roster. Next Friday, we will send out the prayer roster. Every day, beginning Easter Sunday, you will be asked to think about, pray for, call, email, maybe even write, four to six households from our directory. It will be vitally important for us to remain in contact during our time apart, especially as weeks become months. The roster is 30 days long. When we get to the end, we will start over again.

Your Worship and Music Committee encourages you to “attend” virtual streamed worship with Highlands and St Andrew’s Wesley United Churches. The link to their service is here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEnx79as211T4bvrW7at3Ww. Not all of us will have access, but it is a good experience for those who do. And maybe it is something for us to think about for our future. Also this week’s Sunday Gathering will have a link to a virtual palm parade hosted by Pacific Spirit United Church.

Following are some other announcements from other ministries in the church.

For now, I leave you with these words from Paul,

“Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutial affection; outdo one another in showing honour. Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer.” (Romans 12:9-12)

Love in Christ,

Rev David Cathcart
