Obituary: Lauralea was very active with girl guides and travelled to England to accept her Canada Cord Award. After graduating High School in Fort St John, Lauralea worked for both the Pioneer Inn and the MacKenzie Inn doing clerical work before joining CIBC in 1989. Lauralea met her husband Steve through CIBC and relocated to Port Coquitlam in 1991.
Lauralea had various activities that she enjoyed including dragon boating, learning to run, and she completed several half marathons. She had a passion for sewing, knitting, and later on got involved with quilting once she retired. Lauralea and Steve took many trips to Europe to learn the history of the areas they travelled. Trips included the Mediterranean, Israel, Egypt, Greece, Italy, countries along the Adriatic Ocean, and a trip through Russia.
Lauralea had a love for animals and over the years had 5 dogs to help make the house a home. Lauralea was predeceased by her Mother Mary Jean Lockyer and Father James Helge Lockyer. She leaves behind her husband Stephen William Witiuk, brothers James Brent Lockyer and Trevor Dion Lockyer, spouse Shawnda Lockyer. Nieces and nephews Ashtyn & Kolton Lockyer and Andrea & Ryan Lockyer. Lauralea was overjoyed for the birth of her great niece Peyton Deman.
Lauralea also leaves behind her 3 cherished Mini Aussie Shepherds, Lexie, Bailey, and Jasper.
