Obituary: It is with broken hearts that the family of Melinda Helen Thomas announce her peaceful passing on December 17, 2025, at the age of 59.
Melinda—lovingly known as Min or Minnie—was born on October 27, 1966, in New Westminster, British Columbia, to Robert and Heather Thomas. She grew up in Port Coquitlam, attending Sunny Park Elementary School, and lived there until moving into long-term care in early 2025.
Melinda will be lovingly remembered by her mother Heather; siblings Melodie (Dan), Tim (Erica), Marie (Mike), and Bob (Michelle); nephew Steven; nieces Miranda, Alexis, Haley (Campbell), Ashley, and Sarah; BFF Alison and many extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her dad Bob, sister Helen, and grandparents Helen and Cecil.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Keiss, her team, and the 6N staff at St. Paul's Hospital for giving Melinda a joyful final Christmas; the team at Brock Fahrni for welcoming her into their family; and Classic Life Care—especially Manveer—for their exceptional care and kindness.
