Notes from Doers Jan 18, 2023 meeting in Church Hall

Everything Chocolate…. coffee, tea, hot chocolate and dessert offerings!
Twenty attending.

Question: As we begin 2023, How do you see Trinity addressing Deep Spirituality?

While enjoying a beverage and a bit of chocolate, table groups came up with the following comments while considering Trinity’s deep spirituality:

•    Understanding, Convictions, emotions, love, relationships, UCW units.
•     Monday morning group, offering study groups, small groups, Sunday worship, Prayer Circle.
•    Deepen, develop, uncover, experience, cultivate deep spirituality.
•    ? definition…How is it different from religion?
•    Sunday worship, UCW group worship time, Camp Spirit
•    Monday morning Study groups, Tuesdays @ 2211, Explore
•    Radical Hospitality

We acknowledged that Trinity sits on the unceded territory of the Kwikwetlem first nations.

Worship: Syd led the group into a quiet time and a reading from 1st Corinthians 1: 10-18 followed by a reading from Nancy Reeves “I’d Say Yes God if I knew what you wanted: What is Discernment?"; then ended with the first verse of Psalm 27 in the hymn book.

Robert expressed some frustration from a payroll glitch that occurred just before Christmas through to the new year. We appreciate all Robert does….so much of which many of us have no idea what this role entails! Thank you, Robert.

•    there are volunteer opportunities with our Sunday coffee hospitality system and the flowers placed in the sanctuary on Sundays. Spread the word and encourage others to participate. This is an opportunity to serve and enhance our worship.
