Trinity News Week of June 2

Worship on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 10:30 am:
Worship and Music has decided to link up via YouTube with the Pacific Mtn Regional Council (PMRC) annual worship service on June 2^nd being held at St. Andrews-Wesley Church in downtown Vancouver.  The service will be shown in Trinity’s sanctuary at 10:30 am on the big screen. 
This worship service includes the ordination of new ministers and communion and may take up to two (2) hours. We will be serving communion LIVE at Trinity at the same time it is occurring at St. Andrews-Wesley. We encourage all members of our congregation to attend LIVE and IN PERSON. But we do ask that you stay for the entire service.

Rev. Dr. Japhet Ndhlovum - The United Church of Canada (Sunday's guest speaker at the PMRC AGM): Born and educated in Zambia, Ireland, and South Africa, resident in Canada (Toronto) currently serving as a Global Program Coordinator for global partnerships in Church and mission Unit responsible for the Philippines, India, Angola, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. Japhet’s personal vision is to be a transformative agent and a facilitator by building bridges that liberate and unite voices of sacred defiance. While transforming history, he seeks to share his Christian faith by actively getting engaged in transforming history and working to end oppression by instigating, inspiring, and participating in acts of justice. He believes in life before death.

Strawberry Tea: The Rachel Unit will once again host The Strawberry Tea here at Trinity. Saturday, June 23 from 2 to 4 pm. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased from the office or before/worship.

 

UCW News: UCW meets every 2nd Tuesday at 1:30 pm in the Narthex/Library. UCW will continue to meet as a single group each month. The Sunday Muffin Sale will continue on the 3rd Sunday of most months - not June. We look forward to new ways to be together. 

 

Hall Floor: We thank Progressive Housing for the lovely state of the Hall floors. We had the same diligent gentleman who did them last year, and they are renewed and refreshed for another year. Thanks to Harvey for moving all the tables and chairs!!

 

Summer Office Volunteers….Trinity Needs You!! Once again this summer, we are looking for volunteers to staff the office for two (2) hours from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, for two (2) days (Tuesdays and Thursdays), for 8 weeks: July 2 - August 22, 2024, during Zoe's vacation time.  Ideally, if we had 8 volunteers, each person would only do two days or one week. We aim to be flexible!   Training is available. The main tasks are:  answering the phone, checking emails and sorting mail etc. Please contact Betty McLean or Jo-Ann Dahms if you are interested in this exciting…but short term…opportunity!
