Our Vision:
We would like to help respond to the need for both affordable housing, and accessible community services for people struggling in our community.
To do this we imagine a redevelopment of the church property with the help of Terra Social Purpose Real Estate and other community service-oriented organizations and financial partners.
Our Wish List for Redevelopment:
- Affordable Housing.
- Paid for Church Space.
- Alternate Income for Trinity.
- Space for Amenities and Services.
(We’re thinking this could be a Service Hub: a service centre run by 1 or more organizations to help those at risk of becoming homeless, those who are under-housed, and those who need support with their housing.)
Initial Concept:
FRANCL Architecture revealed this initial concept (see photo above) for a future building to replace the church building! We brought it to the Trinity community at the Neighbourhood Public Information Meeting on Mon, Nov 6, 2023.
We are still early in the process. However, in the concept, the building is 6 stories. The bottom two would serve as church and service hub, the rest mixed, affordable housing. Construction is not likely to begin for 4 to 6 years.
