CONNECT DAY

Monday, November 21st | 10:00am - 2:00pm | Broadway Chuch | 1932 Cameron Avenue | Port Coquitlam

Even though it is a bit last minute, we hope people will be able to donate and volunteer to make this event happen again.

For those of you unfamiliar with the event here is a brief description: Tri-Cities Connect Day provides people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness access to a wide range of support services that they otherwise may have difficulty accessing on the street, all under one roof.  Up to 100 homeless or at-risk persons are expected at this event, as well as representatives of 12 different service providers. Lunch is provided, as well as refreshments throughout the day.

"CLOTHING STORE & HYGIENE KITS"

We are always in need of items for donation and would like to have an abundance of items on hand Monday as we will have a captive audience.

Coats, Mittens, Hats, scarves, rain gear, ponchos
New underwear,
New and gently used socks,
Weather-appropriate shoes
Sweaters  and sweatshirts
Hand Warmers
Personal items, Female hygiene, toothpaste/brush,  hand sanitizer
Gift Cards for a nearby location

If you are able to help with any of these items it would be amazing. AND, if you could bring them right to Broadway Church on Monday morning, it would be very helpful. I will be on-site by 7:00am.

I will also be looking for someone to pick up donations Monday morning, shortly after 9:00 am at MLA Mike Farnsworths office at 2748 Lougheed Hwy at Westwood (near BC LIquor) and at Vancity Pinetree Branch at 2991 Lougheed Hwy. in Coquitlam (near Chapters) and bring directly to the event site.

Thanks in advance to everyone for helping to make the first Community Connect Day in 10 years a success! We are starting small this time and will use this as a starting point for a bigger and better day in 2023.
