Letter from our Governance TeamTo a church in social isolation Letter to the Trinity Community; To start with I want to say how great it is to see so many of you at in-person Sunday worship services, even wearing masks! To those of you on Zoom we are so glad that you join us and share worship. We are all worshipping at the same time regardless of where we are. We are one family. We have had some visitors to the church over the last weeks, please make them welcome. A big thank you to our Worship Team for arranging Worship Leaders while Rev. Cathcart is away until the end of May. As we have said, we will keep you informed about what is happening at Trinity. Thrift is planning on starting up later this this month which is great. I am sure the local community will be very pleased after such a long break. After church coffee is also being planned, no start date as yet, so stay tuned. Unfortunately Kiddies Korner has had to close early and will not reopen until September. This is due to their inability to provide enough staff, due to illness. We wish them well and look forward to seeing them in September. This next item is a warning, Pacific Region has informed us of an email scam going around that impersonates United Church ministers and church members. The email asks people to buy gift cards, using cash or Bitcoin. The United Church of Canada will never ask for secrecy or help in this manner. Please report any phishing or spam emails to Google and call the Regional office or our church office if you have concerns. Please be vigilant! Can you believe that we are already a week into May! Even with everything that has been going on time seems to be flying by! Now if Mother Nature would cooperate and bring some some nice Spring weather: warm, sunny with the occasional rain, it would be a real bonus. As many of you know watching kids play baseball in the chilly damp weather is not fun! Still we do it! And the kids enjoy it. As we have mentioned before if you or anyone you know requires assistance please contact Syd Sawyer or Judi Carroll ( 694-941-4565 or 604-941-2002) and we will do our best to assist you. Take care of yourselves and this around you and stay safe. Blessings from your Governance Team, |
