The week of March 15, 2026Announcements
Worship on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at 10:30 am: Sunday's Service will be led by our Affirming Team. We will celebrate PIE Day, a ministry of the Affirming United team to make being welcomed to the United Church "Public, Intentional, and Explicit", especially for folks who may have traditionally been excluded from that welcome in other churches.
As always, we have our YouTube livestream available. CLICK HERE to access it. Once you are on the page, at the time of worship, click on the video that says "live now" and you will see the service.
Wooden Cross Korean Church: They will be hosting a Spring Break Children's Bible School over the weekend. Be aware that church spaces will be taken up with that endeavour. For more detail, check the colour-coded calendar in the church hallway.
Rev David News: Rev David will be away from March 9 to 15. Our Affirming Team is leading worship on March 15! Card-making Workshop: Judy Cartwight will be returning to host another card-making class Saturday, March 28th from 1 - 4 pm. Registration fee is $50 with all proceeds going to the Displaced Persons Fund. Only four (4) spots left!
Thrift News: It's a long hard grind to spring, $619.10. CLICK HERE for the dance scene from the 1952 movie Singing in the Rain. It's what we need now.
UCC Moderator Message: Every year on March 14, The United Church of Canada celebrates National Affirming PIE Day. PIE stands for Public, Intentional, Explicit Inclusion of 2SLGBTQIA+ People. Last year, we celebrated the music that moves us. This year for the Moderator's 2026 PIE Day message, we are broadening our horizons to celebrate every kind of creator—woodcutters, crocheters, gardeners, and bakers—who help weave connections between 2S and LGBTQAI+ people, the church, and all in our communities.
