Our YouthCrew application is also open for youth currently in grades 8 - 11 who want to spend light-hearted time with children and work on leadership skills with our staff. CLICK HERE.

Wooden Cross Korean Church is moving their office into the church on June 1st. This will mean reallocating various spaces around the church. The Choir Room will now be used for Thrift storage. Further details as work progresses.

Help Needed: Worship & Music needs some help. With Jo-Ann’s departure to Vanc Island, and Harvey’s retirement, two or three extra people are needed to work with Beth Anderson, Brian Wheatley, Donald Rogers and Rev David to plan out logistics a month or so ahead, and to make a few phone calls. These are planning roles (behind the scene), not necessarily speaking roles.

Kiddies Korner: After 55 years at Trinity, Kiddies Korner Preschool is leaving us. Preschool amenities will disappear about June 30, 2025. To help defray dismantling costs, they KKP established a GoFundMe page for “Kiddies Korner Playground”, or go to http://gofund.me/3b526e03. You can also drop off a direct donation to their staff.

Development Steering Team (DST): Governance requested a brief update on what stage DST is in the redevelopment process. They responded:
“Our current goals remain the same, to redevelop the property into a building that would include a church and multi-use space for Trinity United Church and service-oriented partners on the main floor. The upper floors would include different types and levels of subsidized housing.
We are currently in a waiting phase as we apply for further funding for the next predevelopment studies. We are working with Terra Social Purpose Housing to coordinate the approvals needed and continue the application process through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM). Please note that in all redevelopment projects, these funding stages are the slowest stages of the whole process, and often take years. We continue to move slowly forward and thank everyone for their prayers and support.”

Palestine Visit: Katryn Harris (Rev Marianna Harris's daughter) has put together a video of Palestinians talking about their life at the moment. It will be shown at Inlet United on May 5th from 6 - 8:30 pm, along with a bit of discussion and some absolutely gorgeous items for sale that have come directly from Bethlehem (as a way of supporting those who live there and are in absolutely desperate financial straits at the moment).  More details, along with registration, can be found here:  https://events.humanitix.com/voices-from-palestine. The registration is free, but we ask people to register because space is limited...

Healing Pathways:  The Tri-Cities Healing Pathway ministry offer in-person healing sessions at Inlet United on Monday afternoons.  Sessions can be booked for 1:15 or 2:00. That time on the 4th Monday of each month, however, is set aside for a gathering of practitioners. To book a session contact 604-939-5513 or email healingpathway@inletunited.ca.

UCC Prayers: We hold the Filipino-Canadian community in Vancouver and around the world in deep concern and solidarity. We pray for those who have been killed, for their families and friends, and for those facing injuries, that they might heal, in both body and mind, from this horrible crime. The United Church prays also for first responders who witnessed this horrific scene, and for strength for investigators as they help the community and country understand what happened in this devastating action and find justice.

PMRC Prayers: In our own Pacific Mountain Region of the United Church of Canada, we pray for We Are One (Port Hardy) CP, Weird Church (Cumberland) CP, West Point Grey UC (Vancouver), and West Vancouver UC.

Trinity Prayer Circle: We have two prayer circles to receive and act on your prayer requests. Please refer prayer requests to Linda Lund (778-883-3064/linda.lund60@gmail.com).

Prayers of the People: May 4 - 9, 2025
