The week of June 1, 2025Announcements
Worship on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 10:30 am: Sunday's service will be led by members of our Trinity United Men's group: Brian Wheatley, Alf Dumont, and Harvery Loucks. We will NOT be watching the PMRC AGM worship this year because it begins too early. CLICK HERE for the order of service. We have our YouTube livestream available, CLICK HERE to access it. Once you are on the page, at the time of worship, click on the video that says "live now" and you will see the service.
Congregational Annual General Meeting: Was a great success. Thank you to everyone who wrote a report, thank you to our Governance Team, Rev Cathcart, and to all who give of themselves and their time to make Trinity United such an amazing church.
Golden Ears Gathering: Join us on June 8th at 1:00 pm at Golden Ears United Church for a potluck and a chance to connect with friends old and new. We’ll provide the coffee, tea, and desserts — you’re invited to bring savouries, sandwiches, or salads to share. Then, at 2:30 pm, we’ll gather to worship with United Church folks from coast to coast as we watch the livestream of the National Centennial Service from Newfoundland. Come for food, friendship, and faith as we mark this special milestone together.
Sign up Sheet: Please make sure to sign up for the Centennial Celebrations at Golden Ears United next Sunday (see above). We will be arranging carpooling as the parking there is limited. They would also like to know numbers so they can plan for beverages and desserts (which they are providing.)

Strawberry Tea Returns: Our famous Strawberry Tea will take place Sat, June 21 from 2 to 4 pm here in the Fellowship Hall. The renouned yumminess needs helpers, so you will find the sign up sheet on the board outside the kitchen for people to lend a hand. Tickets are just $15 and will be sold in the office, or find Judi Carroll on Sunday. Grab a poster and spread the word. All proceeds from the Tea will be split between Trinity’s Benevolent Fund and Camp Spirit Scholarships.
Trinity Trunk Sale: It’s time to start thinking Spring Clean up! Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 9 am – 1 pm (same day as Poco Citywide Garage Sale) Trinity Parking Lot, book your spot: ONLY $30. Tell everyone you know! It's an easy way to get your old or abandoned stuff out of the house and into the hands of people who can actually use it. Lots of pedestrian traffic due to the Citywide Garage Sale - the more the merrier. Tell your friends and neighbours, let's fill the parking lot!! Sign up sheet on bulletin outside kitchen. Take a poster and spread the word...Donations of cookies or muffin would be welcome to sell with the coffee which will be on sale.. They can be dropped off on the day after 9 am or call Judi, 604 941-2002 to arrange pick up Friday.
Gifts with Vision: The United Church of Canada developed Gifts with Vision in response to requests to be able to give gifts to relatives, friends, and loved ones that directly support projects developed by the church's Mission and Service partners. Camp Spirit 2025: Camp Spirit returns to Trinity the week of July 14 to 18 and at other locations throughout BC. Registration is open for campers ages 6-11 and "Level Up" Youth ages 12-14. Join us as we share Sacred stories, crafts, games, science, and songs in a welcoming community. Our YouthCrew application is also open for youth currently in grades 8 - 11 who want to spend light-hearted time with children and work on leadership skills with our staff. CLICK HERE.

Pitt Meadows United Church Garage Sale: Pitt Meadows folks will be having their Garage Sale on Sat, May 31 starting at 10 am. Come out to see THEIR treasures!
Healing Pathways: The Tri-Cities Healing Pathway ministry offer in-person healing sessions at Inlet United on Monday afternoons. Sessions can be booked for 1:15 or 2:00. That time on the 4th Monday of each month, however, is set aside for a gathering of practitioners. To book a session contact 604-939-5513 or email healingpathway@inletunited.ca.
PMRC Prayers: In our own Pacific Mountain Region of the United Church of Canada, we pray for Pacific Mountain Regional Council. For candidates who will be recognized into their ministries, those who will retire, and others who are being recognized for their work in the Church..

Canada counters American annexation with reminder it already belongs to elderly King.
OTTAWA – After repeated threats of annexation from Donald Trump, Canada has made the bold move of reminding the world it already bends the knee to a weird, elderly King. Opinions are split on the efficacy of the move at such a volatile time. Columnist Andrew Coyne pointed out, “Having King Charles deliver the throne speech emphasizes one big advantage that he has over Trump: The ability to speak and read in English.”
