Camp Spirit 2025: Camp Spirit went amazingly! We say a huge thank you to Peggy Horvath for all the hard work and time she spent making sure the camp ran smoothly.  Everyone had a wonderful time and will remember this week for years to come! Special thanks also extend to the wonderful bakers and kitchen helpers, as well as Sherie Bohorquez for all of her tremendous support throughout the week. Congratulations to the team for a job well done.

Affirming News: The City of Port Coquitlam has a PRIDE event on Sunday, July 20th, from 2-5pm at Leigh Square. This is an annual celebration of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and gender-diverse people. It is a family-friendly event that is a vibrant part of Pride Season, adding to the wide range of celebrations happening across Canada all summer long (June to September). Get ready for an afternoon filled with live music, crafts, delicious food, and engaging community displays. Mark it on your calendars!

Sprucing Up the Preschool: What are you doing on Tue, July 29 or on Thu, July 31 between 9-11am? Nothing on your calendar yet? Then join us for a little Work Party. We need a few helpers to make some minor repairs in the preschool room. This means patching random nail holes, painting over some scuffs and a bit of cleanup of the yard. This preschool space is available for meetings, and other gatherings. Booking is done through the office. The Work Party - complete with coffee/tea and donuts - will be a chance to make the rooms a bit more presentable. Everyone is welcome! If you are available to drop by for an hour or two, please let Judy Johnson know.

Free Filing Cabinet: We have a large metal filing cabinet that needs a new home! If you are interested in taking it off our hands, please contact the office for further details.

Kapa'a United Church of Christ Bulletin:
"The apostles gathered around Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught. He said to them, 'Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while.' For many were coming and going, and they had no leisure even to eat." Mark 6:30, 31.

It seems like we were just preparing for the end of the school year with the ceremonies of May Day and high school graduations, and already the first full month of summer has come to an end. I remember the rhythms of summer as a child when the days were easy and made for sleeping in, exploring, adventures, last-minute plans, and long evenings playing outside.

I wonder if you have shifted into summer rhythms or are still going full speed as July begins. I invite you to take advantage of a cool evening breeze with the people who bring you joy. For most of us, this is a privilege, so I try not to take the time for granted. At KUCC, summer means a slower season of worship with no big festival days to plan for or celebrate. I think we can all agree that we could all use a slower pace once in a while. However, even though we are in the "ordinary times" of the church year, the work and pace of ministry at KUCC have not necessarily slowed down.

To read the full newsletter by Pastor Rob of the Kapa'a United Church of Christ, see the printed copy in the hanging folder on our Wider Church Bulletin Board near the office!
