Message from Olivia Rapos: As Olivia Rapos wraps up her final days of music lessons in the Sanctuary here at Trinity United, she writes the following message: "I wanted to send a sincere thank you to both you and the Trinity United team for the use of your space this past year. Your generosity has allowed me to now be opening my very own location for my music school for this Fall and launch a non-profit society that awards bursaries to students who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to study music- something I feel extremely passionate about. I wouldn't have been able to make this happen without you! Thank you again for your trust, hospitality, and partnership. I hope you all have a wonderful summer!" Utmost congratulations to Olivia! Affirming News: It's PRIDE Season! Following the 2022 launch of Canada’s First Federal 2SLGBTQIA+ Action Plan… Building our future, with pride, the Government of Canada adopted the use of a new acronym, 2SLGBTQIA+, when referring to people who identify as part of sexual and gender diverse communities.
What do all those letters mean?
2S refers to Two-Spirit people; it is placed at the front, in recognition that First Nations/Aboriginal peoples were the first 2SLGBTQIA+ communities
L refers to Lesbian
G refers to Gay
B refers to Bisexual
T refers to Transgender
Q refers to Queer
I refers to Intersex, and considers sex characteristics beyond sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression.
A refers to Asexual
+ is intended to include people who identify as part of sexual and gender diverse communities, who use additional terminologies.
