We are looking for a couple of people to look after this (more people would be best so everyone could have rest and browse the sale!!) If you are interested in helping us out or making some muffins/ cookies please let the organizing group know. (Syd Sawyer ,Wendy Squires or Judi Carroll.)

Rev David News: Our pastor will be taking some well-deserved time off over the next two weeks. We will be welcoming Robert Nicolson and Lynda Brind-Dickson to our pulpit in his absence. We wish him a time of deep rest and recovery.

DOERs Meeting: We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Monday, May 12 at 6:30 pm. This Doer's Meeting will be a super fun and purposeful time. Come out and participate in the life of the community!

Annual Reports: Thank you to all those who have turned in their reports.

Congregational Annual General Meeting: Sunday, May 25, after worship. Mark your calendars to attend the Trinity United AGM. This is a very important meeting where we can communicate with each other about our future as a congregation - where we're at and where we're headed. Be sure to attend.

Golden Ears Gathering: Join us on June 8th at 1:00 pm at Golden Ears United Church for a potluck and a chance to connect with friends old and new. We’ll provide the coffee, tea, and desserts — you’re invited to bring savouries, sandwiches, or salads to share. Then, at 2:30 pm, we’ll gather to worship with United Church folks from coast to coast as we watch the livestream of the National Centennial Service from Newfoundland. Come for food, friendship, and faith as we mark this special milestone together.

Wooden Cross Korean Church is moving their office into the church on June 1st. This will mean reallocating various spaces around the church. The Choir Room will now be used for Thrift storage. Further details as work progresses.

Help Needed: Worship & Music needs some help. With Jo-Ann’s departure to Vanc Island, and Harvey’s retirement, two or three extra people are needed to work with Beth Anderson, Brian Wheatley, Donald Rogers and Rev David to plan out logistics a month or so ahead, and to make a few phone calls. These are planning roles (behind the scene), not necessarily speaking roles.

Kiddies Korner: After 55 years at Trinity, Kiddies Korner Preschool is leaving us. Preschool amenities will disappear about June 30, 2025. To help defray dismantling costs, they KKP established a GoFundMe page for “Kiddies Korner Playground”, or go to http://gofund.me/3b526e03. You can also drop off a direct donation to their staff.

Development Steering Team (DST): Governance requested a brief update on what stage DST is in the redevelopment process. They responded:
“Our current goals remain the same, to redevelop the property into a building that would include a church and multi-use space for Trinity United Church and service-oriented partners on the main floor. The upper floors would include different types and levels of subsidized housing.
We are currently in a waiting phase as we apply for further funding for the next predevelopment studies. We are working with Terra Social Purpose Housing to coordinate the approvals needed and continue the application process through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM). Please note that in all redevelopment projects, these funding stages are the slowest stages of the whole process, and often take years. We continue to move slowly forward and thank everyone for their prayers and support.”

We pray for those who have been killed, for their families and friends, and for those facing injuries, that they might heal, in both body and mind, from this horrible crime. The United Church prays also for first responders who witnessed this horrific scene, and for strength for investigators as they help the community and country understand what happened in this devastating action and find justice.

PMRC Prayers: In our own Pacific Mountain Region of the United Church of Canada, we pray for Whitehorse UC, Wild Church CP, Willingdon Heights UC (Burnaby), and Windermere Valley SM (All Saints, Christ Church Trinity, St. Peter’s.)
