Trinity United Thrift Store: We are open Wednesdays from 12 noon to 7 pm with Communicable Disease Protocols in place. We also now accept Credit/Debit cards in payment! Spread the word amongst the community. We applaud the volunteers embracing the new technology.
 
Office News: The office Administrator, Zoë, is back from her time away. BIG THANKS to the volunteers: Betty Anne Dempsey, Linda Lund, Peggy Horvath, Jennifer Marshall, and Judy Maki who covered the desk in her absence. Annual VST Explorer’s Weekend event: September 22-24 at the Vancouver School of Theology. Over the weekend, participants attend class and worship, interact with current students and faculty, and have some personal-communal discernment time on the beautiful UBC campus. 44th Moderator of the United Church of Canada: The Right Rev. Dr. Carmen Lansdowne was installed as Moderator in a ceremony Aug 7th, 2022, CLICK HERE. As Moderator, she will be on leave from her position as Executive Director of First United Church on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. The Rev. Dr. Lansdowne speaks of a church committed: “To build new connections and rebuild old ones. To work towards social change that sees a world cared for, and human dignity honoured. To walk together every day in repentance and reconciliation. To march and fight and change unjust systems together. To pray together. To sing together. Help Support Ukrainian Refugees: 6 months of war in the Ukraine. You can help! For just $25, you can give a hygiene package with items like toothpaste, laundry detergent and disinfectant. For $38, a food basket of staples. For $40, a hygiene package and incontinence products. Prayers of the People: Aug 28 to Sept 3, 2022 
In the Ecumenical Prayer Cycle of the World Council of Churches this week, we pray for Cape Verde, The Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and Senegal. In our own Pacific Mountain Region of the United Church of Canada, we pray for Cloverdale UC, Como Lake UC, Comox UC, Courageous Community Centre (Port Alberni), Cranbrook UC, and Crossroads UC.
