Hybrid Worship on Sunday, Sept 24, 2023 at 10:30 am: This Sunday we are led in worship by Robert Nicolson. We will be observing Truth and Reconciliation Day, coming up next Saturday, Sept 30. MUFFIN SALE: This Sunday. UCW ladies will be selling muffins this Sunday (the 24th) after church. Price this month is still a bargain at $1 each, enjoy muffin-y goodness.
Doers Meeting: this coming Monday, Sept 25, 6:30 – 8:30 pm Church Hall. We are all Doers….we are the church together! The evaluations we expressed at the Doer’s May meeting (Governance/Doers current structure) will be reviewed and discussed. Development Steering Team Announcement: On Sept 10 we learned that the Vancity Community Foundation -- through the Housing Accelerator Program -- is delighted to support us, Trinity United Church, by awarding a Feasibility Study grant for an amount of $15,000. The funds are intended to support a feasibility study for a new affordable housing project with a new worship space for 150 people and service hub. Vancity also indicated that Trinity would be welcome to apply for further funding once we've demonstrated a primary level of feasibility. A townhall meeting with our user groups and neighbours is being planned for October. More information to follow.
Thrift Sales: The sales keep chugging along, this Wed's total was on track for $824.00!
Next Sunday: Nina Parco will be selling chocolate mint girl guide cookies for $6 a box after service in October 8.
Labyrinth Walks at Inlet United Church: First Thursday of the month at The Springs. Come for a calming, contemplative walk along the indoor labyrinth pathway at Inlet United Church at The Springs. This practice is open to all members of the community who seek peace, and a time for silent, moving meditation. CLICK HERE for more info.
The United Church Challenges LGBTQ+ Hate: The United Church of Canada calls on its members and people of goodwill to continue demonstrating solidarity with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, to foster inclusive and safer environments in learning institutions, community and within family settings. Take action by contacting your Member of Parliament and/or your provincial leaders and ask them to safeguard and affirm existing legislation. CLICK HERE for a sample letter.
#SearchtheLandfill: On September 5, leaders of four major church denominations joined the voices of supporters at Camp Marcedes and Camp Morgan urging provincial political leaders to search the Prairie Green Landfill for the remains of two missing Indigenous women, Morgan Harris and Marcedes Myran. Healing Pathways: The Tri-Cities Healing Pathway ministry has begun again to offer in-person healing sessions at Inlet United on Monday afternoons. Sessions can be booked for 1:15 or 2:00. That time on the 4th Monday of each month, however, is set aside for a gathering of practitioners. To book a session contact 604-939-5513 or email healingpathway@inletunited.ca.
