New to Canada Potluck Dinner: Saturday, February 15th , 5:30 pm in the church Hall. We would like to take this opportunity to invite all of the congregation to mingle and munch next Saturday evening as we welcome newcomers. We have seen many new faces at Trinity and would love to share a meal and share our stories with one another. Please join us and bring along a dish to share. Sharing flavours from many corners of the world adds to the joy of being part of our community.
Come and join in the fellowship.

Mission & Service: Year end total for Mission & Service donation from Trinity - $14, 261.00!!! We set a goal of  $10,000.00 for the 2024 year and have once again surpassed that target! Many thanks to all the faithful supporters of our United Church's Mission & Service goals. Special thanks to the UCW of Trinity for it’s ongoing support of Mission & Service. Respectfully submitted, Joy Galea,  Mission & Service Enthusiast.

Holy Week Choir: The choir is working on anthems for Palm Sunday and Easter Morning. If anyone would like to join the choir to prepare those two pieces, you would be most welcome. We will rehearse them first on Thursday evenings at 7 pm in the Sanctuary.

UCC News: “You are my new hero,” writes The Right Rev. Dr. Carmen Lansdowne to The Right Rev. Dr. Mariann Budde of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington this week. The Moderator thanked her for her courage, noting, “What you preached, and then speaking directly to the US president, was bold and prophetic. And it was deeply rooted in our faith tradition.”  CLICK HERE to read her letter in full.

Drop her a line: The address for the Episopalian bishop who Trump took offence to is below. Many people are sending her letter and postcards of encouragement.

Progressive Housing and Harm Reduction: CLICK HERE. Progressive has put together an amazing resource for harm reduction that we encourage everyone to read and make use of. There is a particularly excellent video, appropriate for kids, about addiction called Nuggets, CLICK HERE for video.

Broadview Article: Should Canada’s religious charities lose tax status? Readers weigh in. A proposal to halt 'advancement of religion’ as a charitable purpose has ignited conversations on the pros and cons of faith-based community work. CLICK HERE to read.

Healing Pathways: The Tri-Cities Healing Pathway Ministry Team, which includes practitioners from several local churches, is hosting a Healing Pathway Training Workshop at Inlet United Church on February 21st to 23rd. Registrations are coming in and we are asking for some help from congregation members. Some of the participants are coming from out of town and would appreciate a place to stay. Can you billet someone? Also could you make muffins, buns, or snacks to help with the breaks? Do you have an extra pillow or two? The needs are greater than our small group can provide. Please contact Linda Lund (778-883-3064) or Jan Morrissey (604-469-9875) with questions or offers.

Affirm United: We stand alongside countless people and organizations to denounce the hateful and discriminatory violations of 2SLGBTQIA+ human rights that have been pronounced in the US last week, and that continue to permeate on both sides of the border. CLICK HERE.

UNITED SENIORS HOUSING SOCIETY (“USHS”): The 2025 Annual General Meeting of United Seniors Housing Society (“USHS”) will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Amenity Room, R. Hope Manor, 2340 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam. BC, V3C 2B1. Fourteen years ago (in February 2011), USHS (an enthusiastic group of Trinity United Church members) officially took on management of R. Hope Manor, a subsidized 52-unit independent-living seniors condo complex in Port Coquitlam. This past year, the USHS Board of Directors has experienced the resignations of two long-term directors, Wilf Carson and Dave Squires, and we are now in need of additional directors.  If you are interested in providing low-income housing to seniors in Port Coquitlam, please consider volunteering for this.  To learn more about USHS and Hope Manor, or if you wish to attend the AGM, please contact Jo-Ann Dahms at: dahmsjoann2005@gmail.com or Bryan Furman at: pocoremax@gmail.com.

Healing Pathways:  The Tri-Cities Healing Pathway ministry offer in-person healing sessions at Inlet United on Monday afternoons.  Sessions can be booked for 1:15 or 2:00. That time on the 4th Monday of each month, however, is set aside for a gathering of practitioners. To book a session contact 604-939-5513 or email healingpathway@inletunited.ca.
