UCC Guaranteed Livable Income: Across the country, people are struggling to afford basic necessities. That’s why the United Church of Canada is calling on the federal government to create a Guaranteed Livable Income program. Since 1972, we have been persistently calling for a Guaranteed Livable Income. Today, real progress is being made. Proposals and national legislation are being discussed in Parliament and in some provinces. A Guaranteed Livable Income would help ensure that, regardless of employment status, no one’s income falls below the poverty line. This consistent income floor would reduce poverty, improve health outcomes, and give people the stability they need to thrive. CLICK HERE for the Moderator's video.
You can help make this change happen. We’ve made it easy to contact the Senate Committee who is reviewing Bill S-206 for the creation of a Guaranteed Livable Income program with just a few clicks. Add your voice today, CLICK HERE.

Broadview Article: "Is Gen Z really coming back to church? Recent surveys suggest young adults may be rediscovering religion, but sociologists caution the evidence is still far from clear"  CLICK HERE to read.

Return-It Recycling: We have registered Trinity as a charity with Return-It! You can no longer use the church phone number, but when you return your empties, you can ask to donate the money to "Trinity United Church Port Coquitlam" instead of receiving cash. CLICK HERE.

PMRC Prayers: In our own Pacific Mountain Region of the United Church of Canada, we pray for Pacific Mountain Regional Council. For Campus Ministries at Langara College, Mount Royal University, SFU, Selkirk College, UBC, UNBC, UVic; particularly for students who experience food insecurity, loneliness and grief in their
current experiences.

Prayers of the People: May 31 - June 6, 2026
In the Ecumenical Prayer Cycle of the World Council of Churches this week, we pray for Angola and Mozambique. We pray for governments that are transparent and further the good of all the people, rather than being captive to foreign and business interests. CLICK HERE to find out more about this part of the world and the ecumenical prayer cycle.
